Soup and the FODMAP diet. You might think that’s a hard one once you start your FODMAP diet, but think again! With the right recipe, it’s actually pretty easy to make yourself a delicious low FODMAP soup.
There have been multiple low FODMAP soup recipes posted on Positive Gut, and in this post, I will list them all together to make it easy for you to find them! And once new soup recipes are added, they will also show up here.
In my soup recipes, I usually use a low FODMAP broth cube or use the herbal broth recipe as listed in my article ‘7 best FODMAP and glutenfree spice mixes’. You can decide on using the broth or the cubes, depending on the time you have to prepare it.
For broth cubes, it’s quite important to pay attention to the ingredients. Often the cubes will have high FODMAP ingredients such as garlic or onion powder and sometimes sweeteners. So stay alert when checking the ingredients!
An option is to look for the FODMAP label on the package. Nowadays more and more products have a low FODMAP label, which makes shopping a whole lot easier!
Personally I love to make soup every week. I even call it my ‘Soupy Sunday’. I find this makes the planning of the week’s meals also a lot easier since one day is already made up! Often I settle for one of my easy recipes as listed below because it takes quite some time to come up with new low FODMAP soup recipes. So this is nice and easy on a Sunday!
